EVENT! 3rd yr Illustrators organised
a vintage and contemporary console evening in the Art School lecture Theatre to raise funds for their London show. The night culminated in a FIFA 12 knockout competition on the PS3- Goooooaaalllllll!!!!!!!

VISITING LECTURER. Legendary Designer Jon Gray came and spoke to the students this year and kindly gave tutorials after his talk. Here’s a classic example of his work and some inspirational pieces of industry advice from his slide show.

LECTURER! Tobias Hickey is one of the main Associate Lecturers on the Editorial Illustration unit. Tobias images have appeared in many national publications and regular clients have included The Guardian, The Observer and The Independent on Sunday newspapers. Click on the image to visit his site.

ONE DAY PROJECT! Editorial Illustrator Tobias Hickey set a One Day Project which asked second year students to supply a visual response to fit a specific size in a specific amount of time- 4hrs! Tobias provide students with 2 newspaper articles, one in support and one against the recent ‘occupy London’ protest at St Pauls Cathedral.

EVENT! WAY HEY!! The Illustration studios now have their very own piano. Have a look at the video to see how we transported it to its new home.

EVENT! Preparations are well under way for the Design Your Future UCAS recruitment fair next Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th December at the Kensington Olympia in London. We’re producing four different limited edition screenprints in editions of 100 to be given away! The screenprints were produced, in collaboration, by staff and students and were printed by Peter Lloyd and Jonny Hannah. Want one?
